Partners Health Management is aligning one of our legacy systems, Alpha+, with current security standards. This is part of our ongoing effort to strengthen system security while keeping provider workflows stable and uninterrupted.
What is happening?
Partners is updating Alpha+ to bring it into alignment with state security practices. This will strengthen system security. Partners is taking a measured approach that improves security protections while minimizing impact on providers.
What do providers need to do?
- For providers using ProviderCONNECT (the normal access method):
- If you access Alpha++ through ProviderCONNECT, there is no change to your experience.
- ProviderCONNECT already enforces a 14-character password requirement through secure single sign-on (SSD). When providers enter Alpha+ through ProviderCONNECT, they are already authenticated and will not see any difference.
- For providers who log directly into Alpha+ (direct access):
- No action is required until your next scheduled password reset. There is no immediate or forced reset tied to this change.
- At your next password reset interval, you will encounter the updated password requirement. There is no immediate or forced reset tied to this change.
- You will be required to create a 14-character password when your current password expires.
What is not changing for providers?
- No changes to ProviderCONNECT
- No new portals or login steps
- No workflow changes for standard provider access
- No immediate action required from providers
