Referrals to Specialty Treatment
Partners’ Utilization Management (UM) has separate referral processes for the following services:
- Alcohol and Drug Abuse Treatment Centers (ADATC)
- Electroconvulsive therapy (ECT)
- NC Innovations Level of Care
- NC Innovations Medical Assessment
Providers must follow the ADATC referral procedure and submit required forms by fax.
How to refer
Fax all required documents to 704-884-2701 (Attn: ADATC UM Program Assistants).
Required documents
ECT is currently unmanaged by Partners’ UM. No authorization request is required.
Limits and documentation (effective Jan. 1, 2025)
- Adult ECT: 901, 90870 — unmanaged; no authorization required
- Child ECT: 901HA, 90870HA — unmanaged; no authorization required
